Q I am nervous about visiting the dentist, can you help?
A We come across this a great deal with some of our patients. We are a very friendly, caring, and approachable team and we fully understand how nervous you may be feeling. Sometimes all that is needed is a kind and reassuring talk with us. Please do not feel embarrassed about being nervous, just tell us how you feel, and we will endeavour to reassure you. Some of our regular patients tell us that they really look forward to coming to see us because they always get a great welcome and a friendly smile. Come and visit us and experience our caring approach.
Q I would like to improve my smile, but do not know where to start, can you help?
A Your smile is very personal to you and many patients do not realise the options that are available to improve and enhance your smile. Therefore, we offer a consultation to patients who would like to discuss their options with one of the team. This is a great opportunity to talk through your thoughts and aspirations for your smile. Many patients have a special event, such as a wedding, that they want to look their best for, so we can discuss how long treatments can take with you also. Please talk to a member of our team who will be able to arrange a consultation for you.
Q Do I need to see a dentist and a hygienist?
A We encourage our patients, where appropriate, after a routine examination with a dentist to visit the hygienist. A dentist and hygienist have separate roles within the dental practice and their skills are different. For instance, hygienists support this by spending most of their time with patients thoroughly cleaning their teeth and gums, advising on homecare, diet and products that maintain a healthy mouth. Dentists carry out full examinations, which include mouth cancer screening, gum disease screening and treatments including fillings, teeth whitening, crowns, bridges, veneers, and teeth straightening. We recommend seeing both the dentist and hygienist as helps greatly with long-term oral health, something that we want for all our patients.
Q If I need additional treatments, will you explain the costs and how I need to pay?
A We absolutely will! This is especially important for us, as a dental team, to explain all the relevant treatment options and associated costs so that you can make an informed choice about your plan of care. We want you to be absolutely sure before we commence any treatment, and we are here to answer any questions you may have. Most treatments require advance payments and all further payments being made at each appointment. We also have two dental plans that cover your routine care and offer a discount on additional treatments if you are a member.
Q Do you offer a dental plan?
A We have a number of in-house dental plans that can help you spread the cost of your routine care for all the family. Our dental care membership encourages regular attendance, enabling us to spot problems before they arise and results in helping you maintain healthy teeth and gums for life. You can speak to our plan care coordinator about which plan may be the best for you.
